Servant of the Lake is a premium point-and-click from Rusty Lake, published by Rusty Lake, set in the Vanderboom house decades before *Rusty Lake: Roots*. This Servant of the Lake guide is the day-one playbook: how you click, what you do first, Demo versus the full weekend, and the two habits that softlock the morning. Verified August 16, 2026 · Steam.

Servant of the Lake is click-to-inspect, not a hunt. If an object matters, it reads as a hotspot — a portrait, a pot, a clock hand, a razor — and the cursor or highlight makes that obvious. You are not scraping wallpaper for a one-pixel latch.

| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Click / tap a hotspot | Inspect, pick up, or start the next chore beat |
| Use an item on a hotspot | Combine inventory with the room — milk into the pot, razor to the sink |
| Click a portrait or clock | Read a digit or set a time; write it down before you leave the room |
| Open the notebook | Park numbers, times, and ingredients so you do not re-walk the house |
| Talk / hand over | Advance a family routine or a guest beat — only after the chore that gates it |
No combat, no classes, no builds, and no redeem-code box. Searches for “Servant of the Lake codes” are looking at the wrong genre — portrait 235 is a house lock, not a Roblox drop. If a page promises weapons or pets-as-systems, ignore it.
Day one lives in four rooms: the carriage, the front yard, the kitchen, and Aldous’s bedroom. Later hours add the reception, attic, and (on Day 2) William’s side of the house. Learn those four first. Every opening task on this page happens in one of them.
Once the clicking feels automatic, the only question left is order — and order is where the morning actually breaks.
Do not wander for locks. Run this chain in order: carriage → contract → breakfast → Aldous at 7:00. Community lists name the first Steam beats The Arrival, Preparing Breakfast, Waking up Aldous, and Exercising with Mr. Aldous — they fire because you finished the chore, not because you hunted a hidden flag.

| Beat | Verified note | Where the rest lives |
|---|---|---|
| Carriage | Curtain first, then the yard | Day 1 |
| Contract | Sign it. Skipping it stalls later flags | This page · softlock section |
| Breakfast | Porridge chain — milk, oats, sugar in the pot | Puzzles |
| Portrait lock | Code 235 — count, do not guess | Puzzles |
| Aldous clock | 7:00 before the morning routine | Day 1 |
| Hidden clock | 3:05 is a later missable, not the opener | Secrets |
Porridge is several kitchen beats stacked: fuel the fireplace, set the pot, then add milk, oats, and sugar. Sugar sits behind the portrait lock (235). Matches are a short kitchen side-chain, not a separate combat encounter. If the pot is on the fire with nothing in it, you are not done — serve only when the bowl is actually porridge.
Open the curtains, set the clock to 7:00, shave, serve breakfast, exercise, then dress. He hates cold feet; community-observed that slippers belong in the dress beat if it stalls. Do not rearrange this list to “save time” — the house gates the next room on the routine, not on your curiosity.
Reception and welcome beats exist, and they look like the next obvious door. They are not. If Aldous is still unshaven or undressed, walk back to the bedroom instead of the hall. The step-by-step room order, including afternoon tea and night-one attic names, is on Day 1.
If you only have a half hour, the next section tells you what the free Demo actually contains — and what it withholds.

The free Demo (Steam and mobile, about 15–30 minutes) is a Day 1 slice: arrival, the breakfast chain, and Aldous’s morning. It is enough to learn the click language and the notebook habit. It is not the weekend.
| Build | What you get | What you do not |
|---|---|---|
| Demo / Lite | Carriage, contract, kitchen, Aldous 7:00, a short house loop | Later guests, alchemy aftermath, Day 2–3 rooms |
| Full game | About 4–5 hours, 49 Steam achievements, the rest of the weekend | A combat layer — still chores and puzzles |
| Day 3 routes | Community-observed / TBA where we have not re-run them | Invented rooms or endings |
Official copy tells you to follow the bird. That is the Demo secret. Do not spend the opening looking for it while the pot is empty — finish the chores, then open secrets. This page will not walk the bird path.
The paid weekend adds William’s morning, coffee, laundry, hunting, bathing, and the alchemy cleanup the store page promises. None of that becomes a build or a code list. If a later room is not in our walkthrough yet, it stays community-observed / TBA rather than a guessed map.
Whether you are in the Demo or the full house, the same notebook habit stops you from re-solving 235 every time you re-enter the hall.
The in-game notebook is a chore ledger, not lore. Park three kinds of fact the moment they appear: portrait digits, clock times, and breakfast ingredients. Come back to the page when a lock, a wake-up, or a pot asks for them.

| Write this | Verified value | Do not do this |
|---|---|---|
| Portrait digits | 235 | Guess the box; the portraits already show the count |
| Aldous wake time | 7:00 | Leave the clock where you found it and hope he rises |
| Hidden clock | 3:05 — later, not now | Set 3:05 on the opening morning and skip secrets |
| Porridge ingredients | Milk, oats, sugar (+ fuel / matches) | Serve an empty pot because the fire is lit |
| Contract | Signed | Click past the paper and assume the job started |
Portraits animate when you click them — a watch, fingers, a blink. Count once, write 235, move on. The full count method sits on puzzles. A later clock reads 3:05; that is a missable (You Found Him / Kate), and the solution stays on secrets. Do not treat 3:05 as the opening wake time.
Milk, oats, and sugar each come from a different kitchen beat. If you skip the notebook, you will re-walk the fireplace, the cat, and the portrait box to remember which one is missing. Tick them as they enter the pot.
The notebook will not save you from a skipped contract or an early guest greeting — those are sequence errors, and they are the last thing this page covers.
Scan this before you open the reception door. Almost every stalled opening is a skipped paper or a skipped routine step, not a hidden combat check.
| Mistake | What happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Skip the contract | Later morning flags never start | Go back and sign the paper |
| Clock left off 7:00 | Aldous will not rise | Set 7:00, then open the curtains |
| Greet guests early | Reception starts while the bedroom is unfinished | Finish shave, porridge, exercise, dress first |
| Dress stall / cold feet | He hates cold feet; wiki lists a slipper | Community-observed: put slippers on if the dress beat stalls |
| Serve an empty pot | Breakfast achievement / gate does not fire | Milk, oats, and sugar in the pot, then serve |
| Guess the portrait box | You burn time on 000–999 | Write 235 from the portraits |
| Set 3:05 on day-one wake | You leave the opening path | 7:00 to start; 3:05 only via secrets |
| Chase the bird mid-chore | Demo secret eats the breakfast window | Chores first, bird after |
| Hunt for codes / combat | There are none | House puzzles only — tips |
Before you leave a room, ask three questions: did I sign the paper, is the clock 7:00, and is the pot actually porridge? If any answer is no, stay in that room. Two seconds there prevents the classic “I welcomed the guests and now Aldous will not dress” reload.
Once that check is automatic, open the day walkthrough — it is the next page, not a different game.
Point-and-click chores. Click obvious hotspots, use items on the room, and follow family routines. There is no combat and no pixel hunting.
Carriage → sign the contract → cook the porridge chain → set Aldous’s clock to 7:00 and run curtains, shave, breakfast, exercise, dress. Then guests.
235. How the portraits give the digits is on puzzles. It is not a Roblox code.
7:00 for the opening morning. A later hidden time is 3:05 — that path is on the secrets page, not here.

No. Premium point-and-click only. No builds, no redeem codes, no weapons.
About 4–5 hours. Day-by-day path starts at the walkthrough.
Clock not at 7:00 or a routine step skipped. Community-observed: slippers if he complains about cold feet. Do not greet guests until the bedroom is done.
Day 1 for the room order, puzzles if one lock is stuck, secrets for the bird and 3:05.
